The dog-headed walking stick of Dr. Ágoston Zimmermann
Dr. Ágoston Zimmermann veterianarian, academian was born in Mór in 1875 on the 3. december. His father was the veterinarian of a German hussar regiment.
Ágoston became Veterinarian ad his father, he graduated at The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, but instread healing animals he worked as a professor.
He was acknowledged internationally, He was a Professor at The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, he wrote Scholarly works. His capital research areas was: the hole part of anatomy, the histolgy and the evolutionism. He was from 1922, an active member of the hungarian scientific life until his death.In 1957 he got a kossuth Prize for acknowledge his life work.
His Motto was: Save money, study, do everythingyou can, then you will have somthing, know someting and will be somebody.
One of our elementery school was named from Dr. Ágoston Zimmermann. before the house were he was born, is a statue from he wich was meda by Edit Nagy.
In his memorial room, we can see his personally objects, photos of his family and from his proffesional life also you can see documents from his work. At the room you can find furnitures he owned, he’s medical bag, surgical instruments personal objects, different documents. At the corner we can find his gala dress and walking stick.
